Well my quest for tomatoes by the 4th of July is going well, but my efforts for tomatoes by the end of May met with only minor success. This one, sole, lonely tomato did arrive before June. It is my Lemon Boy. Efforts in life, love and the pursuit of happiness are often met with delays, disappointments, and let’s face it LEMONS.
What we do with those lemons not only defines us, but also sets the bounds for our ultimate success. What are your lemons? It really doesn’t matter. What matters in the end is what you do after your challenges, failures and things that don’t work out. “Never, never, never, never give up!” – Winston Churchhill.
By mid-June, I have many, many more green tomatoes and some that are turning. How successful will my garden be? Will I have tomatoes by the 4th of July? It’s too early to tell, but I think that Lemon Boy was a good sign of things to come.
